There’s a lot more to our policies than plain old car insurance. MINI Insurance can look after the value of your MINI, cover you for the cost of repairs and replacement parts, and protect you if you’re involved in a motoring emergency in the UK or abroad. Your MINI’s tyres can even be insured against damage.
Car Insurance.
MINI Car Insurance is made for you and your MINI. If you need to make a claim, you can rest assured it will go smoothly, because we’ll give you a claims handler who’ll see your claim through from start to finish.
- If you need to make a claim, your MINI can be repaired at an authorised MINI Dealer or MINI Dealer Approved Bodyshop.
- Repairs can be carried out using Genuine MINI Parts, and all repairs are guaranteed for 5 years.
While your MINI is being repaired by a MINI Approved Technican, no matter who's to blame for the accident that's keeping your MINI out of action, you get a hire car.
What's more, you can choose from lots of options so that your cover is shaped just the way you want it.
Shortfall Insurance.
If your MINI was written off, for example, due to a fire, theft or road traffic accident, your insurer is unlikely to give you back the price you paid for your MINI. MINI Shortfall offers you protection against losing out in these tricky situations. It pays the difference, up to the level of cover you choose, between:
- the comprehensive motor insurer’s settlement figure and vehicle invoice price, or
- the comprehensive motor insurer’s settlement figure and the outstanding finance amount.
With MINI Shortfall you are covered for any change in value, no matter how old your car is (including any depreciation), up to the level of cover you choose.
- Immediate cover for new and Cherished MINIs, with no mileage limit.
- You can tailor the level of cover to suit you. Cover levels of £5,000, £10,000, and £15,000 are available, up to a maximum of 100% of the original invoice price of your car.
- We provide cover for 2, 3 or 4 years, allowing you to choose how long you would like cover for.
- You can pay for your policy either in one payment or 12 monthly instalments (at no extra cost).
- If your MINI is written off or stolen (and not recovered) in the first 12 months and you make a claim under the 'new for old' replacement car benefit of your car insurance policy, the remaining term of your MINI Shortfall policy will be transferred to your new car.
Tyre Insurance.
Have you thought about what would happen if your tyres were damaged, either accidentally or by a malicious act? If this were to happen, you could end up facing an unexpected and expensive repair bill, in addition to the added inconvenience. Even the most careful driver can sustain damage to their tyres, whether from unexpected road defects or cuts and tears caused by sharp objects. If your tyres are damaged, either accidentally or by a malicious act, MINI Tyre Insurance can help towards the unexpected cost of repair or replacement, regardless of your annual mileage.
- Payment towards the repair or replacement costs of tyres damaged either accidentally or by a malicious act.
- Immediate cover for MINI cars less than 7 years old with fewer than 80,000 miles at point of purchase.
- You can make up to 5 claims in the period of insurance.
- Choose your level of cover from £200 or £300 towards the replacement of damaged tyres.
- The policy pays up to £50 for each tyre repair.
- Cover can be provided for 1, 2 or 3 years.
- Flexible payment options: pay for your policy in one payment or 12 interest-free monthly instalments.
- Additional Winter Tyres supplied by an authorised MINI dealer are also covered.
- Our experienced MINI Protect Services team will be on hand to guide you through the claims process.
Insured Warranty.
If the warranty on your new or cherished MINI is coming to an end, MINI Insured Warranty can help protect you against the unexpected cost of repairs and replacement parts. With a choice of cover levels and a range of options, including MINI Insured Emergency Service, you can tailor your MINI warranty protection to your own individual needs.
- Comprehensive: our highest level of protection, covering the majority of your MINI’s components.
- DriveLine: the basic level of warranty, covering the main engine, transmission and drive-train components.
Roadside Assistance.
MINI Insured Emergency Service covers MINI drivers in motoring emergencies, anywhere in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and continental Europe.
- Assistance in the event of emergency on the road, at home or elsewhere.
- Coverage anywhere in the UK, Republic of Ireland and continental Europe.
- Extensive network of Emergency Service centres manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Cosmetic Insurance.
Get covered for dings, dents, scratches and scrapes. It’s frustrating finding a little prang has damaged your pristine MINI. With MINI Cosmetic Repair Insurance you don't have to sweat about the small stuff, as you're covered for a whole host of repairs using paintless dent removal and SMART (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) repair techniques.
